Why this project exists
Search results for a slow or backed-up drain often jump straight to a product, an aggressive technique, or a service quote. The safer next step depends on context: which fixtures are affected, whether wastewater is present, whether a chemical was already used, and whether the plumbing is shared.
DrainPath is designed to ask those questions before presenting general information. It is not a contractor marketplace, a lead-generation form, or an emergency service.
What DrainPath can do
- Organize symptoms that a person has already observed.
- Separate single-fixture patterns from broader connected-fixture patterns.
- Apply published safety stop conditions before ordinary guidance.
- Explain why a result fits and what remains unknown.
- Link homeowner-facing statements to reviewable sources.
What it cannot do
DrainPath cannot see inside a pipe, locate a blockage, identify hidden damage, determine code compliance, or replace an on-site inspection. A result is general information—not a plumbing diagnosis, estimate, or guarantee.
Ownership and editorial independence
DrainPath is independently operated. Clearly labeled affiliate links may appear after a low-risk, localized result, but they do not change result order, safety rules, source selection, or editorial conclusions. Safety-stop and wider-system results do not contain product links. Paid placement is not part of the decision rules.
